Creative Writing Workshop

Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to join us for writing games, inspiration, and more at this fun event! Participants will also learn more about the Teen Literary Magazine Tornado Alley and how they can submit their artwork, fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry for publication in the 2018 edition. Clay Charms

Food for Thought

This fall, check out delicious teen events for all the young foodies out there!

Calling all young chefs! Test your culinary skills at our annual Chopped Competition! We’ll give you three random ingredients, and you and your team will come up with three delicious dishes. What ingredients will we pick this year? Will another spoon be melted? Who will win the honor of First Place? You have to come to Chopped to find out! Open to teens in grades 6-12.

 

Gingerbread manGingerbread Challenge: Tuesday, December 5 at 3:00 PM

Get a team together and make a sweet masterpiece at this annual competition! Participants are asked to bring a bag of candy decorations to share and a can of white icing. We’ll be using the same kind of kits we used last year to make construction easier. The number of houses will be limited. Please keep this in mind and come willing to work together to create something awesome. Open to teens in grades 6-12.

STEAM Lab

Draw something with a 3D Printing Pen, build an arcade game, program a robot, and more at this fun event showcasing the Library’s Mobile STEAM Lab. This traveling lab encourages teens to experiment with science, technology, engineering, art, and math with games and fun activities. Teens are reminded that those misusing lab equipment will be asked to leave the Library. No registration necessary. Light snacks will be provided.
