Children’s Summer Reading Program

This summer, we’re focusing on getting the kids out into the community, bringing community members to the library to educate the children, and showing kids how they can make a big, positive impact in their own community. Follow the link to read about our feature project: Kids helping Kids

Summer Reading Challenge! Registration begins on Monday, June 5th.  Register at the Summer Reading Kickoff or stop in the Children’s Department for your reading map and instructions. Participants are challenged to read for 800 minutes over the course of the summer. For every 20 minutes that you read, you can mark off one block on the tracker. Every five blocks, or 100 minutes, you will receive a raffle ticket that you can then use to enter to win one of our fabulous prizes!

After completing the whole lap on the tracker (that’s 800 minutes!) you can also enter to win one of our Grand Prizes. Those who complete 800 minutes will be invited to our annual Pool Party at Dover City Pool (tentative date: August 9) and will receive a free book to keep.

Trackers must be turned in by Wednesday, August 9.

Please contact the Children’s Department at 330-343-6123 with any questions or email Miss Dani!
