Play to win at the Dover Public Library this summer!
Calling all readers! Roll the dice, spin the wheel, and play your cards right during this year’s Summer Reading Program. Kids, Teens, and Adults each have their own Bingo board with fun summer activities including reading, visiting the library, and trying new things. Complete the tasks on your board to enter to win a variety of prizes including gift cards, books, games, and much more! Cards are due August 4. Prizes will be drawn on August 5. Contact the library at 330-343-6123 with any questions! Registration is not required. Registration for the Kids portion of Summer Reading begins on May 30. Registration is not required for the Adult and Teen portions.

Adult Events
Each summer, the Dover Public Library puts on a wonderful summer reading program for the kids. But why should kids have all the fun? This year, we are planning events for adults that will bring friends and family together to play games. The highlights are a murder mystery, a cornhole tournament, and a build your own board game event. But that is not all, we also will have a puzzle swap all summer long and raffle prizes for adults who complete summer reading Bingo. Let’s Play Bingo! Thursday, June 8 at 6:00 PM in the Community Room
Everyone loves to play Bingo. Come to the library to play with all your friends! It will be a lot of fun!
An Afternoon of Board Game Fun – Tuesday, June 13 at 2:00 PM in the Community Room
The adult board games at the library are BEGGING to be played. Bring your friends and play an old favorite or try a new one! There will be a board game event for teens and kids at the same time in other areas of the library.
Fun Playing Cornhole! – Wednesday, June 21 at 1:00 PM on the lawn in front of Dover High School
The community is invited to play Cornhole on the high school lawn opposite the library. What a great way to spend a summer afternoon.
Build Your Own Board Game! – Thursday, July 6 at 6:00 PM in the Community Room
Try your hand at building your own board game! The possibilities are as endless as your imagination. Bring a friend or find a new friend at the library.
Mystery at Magnolia Gardens – Wednesday, July 19 at 6:00 PM in the Community Room
The director of the Magnolia Gardens has been poisoned! You and your group of detectives are on the case to discover who did the poisoning, as well as unravel some other suspicious activity at the gardens. Review evidence, interview suspects, create a murder board and solve puzzles.
Trivia Night – Wednesday, July 26 at 6:00 PM in the Community Room
It’s a midsummer Trivia Night! Bring your own team or join a new one! Everyone is welcome to show how much useless knowledge is stored in your brain!
Teen Events
Play to win prizes from the Dover Public Library! Complete tasks on your Teen Summer Reading Bingo Card to enter to win a variety of prizes, including gift cards, games, and more! Turn in your card by August 4 to be eligible to win.
Our Game On Teen Summer Reading Program is sponsored by a 21st Century Grant with Dover High School, which supports learning opportunities outside of classroom walls. All events are free and open to teens entering grades 6-12. Registration is not required for weekly programs, but participants will be asked to sign in with first names at each event for grant reporting purposes. Teen Maker Mondays – June 5, 12, and 19; July 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM in the Community Room
Each week, learn a new easy recipe for a quick snack then join us as we design and craft our own bags, miniatures, and more! Maker Mondays will use a variety of equipment in the Library’s growing Maker Lounge, including 3D printers, a sublimation printer, and button machines.
Teen Tuesdays – June 6, 13*, 20*, and 27; July 11, 18, and 25*; August 1 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM in the Community Room
*Outside on the High School Lawn. In case of rain, alternate activities will be held in the Community Room.
Join us for games, crafts, and, of course, free snacks at our summer Teen Tuesday events. Our summer line-up includes Make Your Own Board Game, GIANT Game Day, Water Games, Cosplay Crafts, Trivia Party, Board Game Crafts, Sharpie Tie Dye, and a LARP Game Day.
Wizard Wednesdays – June 7, 14, and 21; July 5, 12*, 19, and 26; August 2 from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM in the Community Room
Join us each week for fun games, including Dungeons and Dragons! D&D players will be split into groups that will take turns adventuring with Dungeon Master Liz. On off weeks, parties are invited to play board, card, or video games. No registration necessary. Beginner players are welcome to join.
Game On! Lock-In
Friday, July 28 from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM
Celebrate the end of the summer at our Teen Lock-In. Enjoy food, play through a dungeon-themed escape room, create crafts, and more! Registration with parental permission is required for this special, after-hours event. Call the library at 330-343-6123 for more information or register online up to a month in advance.

Mother Goose Games – Saturday June 10 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Play fun games based on your favorite classic rhymes at this Olympics-style event!
Board Game Day – Tuesday June 13 at 2:00 PM
Come play and challenge your friends and family with our many games.
Mario Cart Racing – Saturday June 17 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM
Use fun carts to race our custom course.
Kona Ice Visit – Wednesday June 21 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Sign up for Summer Reading in the Children’s Department and receive a free ice treat.
Safety Day – Wednesday June 28 at 10:00 AM
Dover’s Police and Firefighters will visit and bring their trucks for kids to explore.
Bubble Party – Wednesday, July 5 at 10:00 AM
Join us for a morning of bubble fun!
Elizabeth Slater and What Pet Should I Get? – Saturday July 8 at 2:00 PM
