Find a Grave a great resource for searching for your ancestor’s grave sites – oftentimes pictures as well as transcriptions of dates and information found on the grave markers – you can also submit data from your own local cemeteries!

Ohio Death Indexes a compilation of digitized records related to deaths, obituaries, marriages, and cemetaries – great for finding specific dates and maiden names for female relations

Chronicling America provides free online access to over 17 million digitized historic newspaper pages covering 1789-1963 from over 50 U.S. states and territories. Made possible through the National Digital Newspaper Program (NDNP), a partnership between the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Library of Congress, and state partners, like the Ohio History Connection.

Ohio Memory, the collaborative statewide digital library program of the Ohio History Connection and the State Library of Ohio, features even more freely-available Ohio newspapers. These digital newspapers even go up to present day!
